I think it's too personal a thing for everyone to experience. I would rather the first few minutes together just be mom, dad and baby. I made that known from the beginning, I wanted it to be me and her and nobody else. She was ok with that. My M.I.L not so much, but she understood. My S.I.L had the Husband, my wife and my M.I.L all in the room.
