Have to agree. Our school offers a babysitting classes for kids in the 5th and 6th grades. A lot of emphasis is put on handling emergency situations and the proper ways to deal with them. Maturity is a big factor. We had a babysitter who great and started sitting for us when she was in 5th grade. Seven years later after she graduated, we hired her 14 year old sister, thinking she would be great, too. Turned out she was totally the opposite. Age is a good place for a starting reference, but each babysitter has to be judged on his/her own merits.
