NW Iowa | gndfarms makes a good point about selling if its above your breakeven. Step 1: Figure out what your breakeven/bushel is. Step 2: Sell grain according to that number. Depends on your situation how far you need to push that principle. If you're under finanical pressure, sell at a profit and stop worrying that "it might go higher though!!"
Personally I feel like the market is overpriced fundamentally in the short term. I do think, though, that we'll see in january that we used more corn than we produced in 2010 and there could easily be a nice rally in an acreage battle going into the '11 growing season. If so, beans and wheat would have to follow at least to some extent. | |
