| I find that potatoes are easy to grow... and a lot of hard work to harvest. Typically, I've been growing about 5 rows in a garden, and I don't have a real good way to get them out. It's a lota work to dig them by hand. I have an 8-hp Troy-Bilt rototiller, that has a hilling attachment. I've removed the tilling tines, and used just the hilling attachment in the past to plow out those potatoes. however, it takes about all that the 8-hp Troy-Bilt can do just to plow out those potatoes. I'm looking for ideas on easier/better ways to remove potatoes from our garden.... without all the labor of digging by hand, and without "breaking the piggy bank". (I'm not gonna spend a couple grand $$$ to buy a way to plow out 5 rows of potatoes each year.) So, how do you take out potatoes from your garden? Pics would be helpful, if you have them. |
