August 2 is the deadline for applications to the Holstein Foundation for its Young Dairy leaders Institute.  As a member of the first class I know how effective this program is and encourage anyone in the dairy business to look into it.  This is a program for learning how to be an advocate for the dairy industry, with training in how to interact with the media and the community, presenting the good side of dairy.  It has some of the best speakers you will ever hear and involves two meetings with a project during the year between sessions.  I can't recommend it enough.  Participation is open to all breeds (I milked Jerseys, and they let me in.)
