Drumheller, Alberta | My family always dumped the pickings in the sink (or pails, basins etc), covered them with cold water, and generously shook the salt shaker over it all. The salt makes any critters either float to the top, or crawl out. Then rinsed it all real good, after letting it sit for a while to let the salt do it's job. Hubby's family had never heard of this, said that they just washed them. Anybody else have different ways that they exterminate the critters after picking? Mrs. Dirtfarmer
