You can move your EZ-Steer between your EZG+ and your EZG500, but you would need to change the firmware on the EZ-Steer every time - ie: you need v4.x EZ-Steer f/w if you are using EZG500 & v3.x EZ-Steer f/w if you are using EZG+.
