I agree on the solar fencer. I have two 10-mile range Red Snappers that I just love for out-of-the-way applications. Lots of voltage (not much current compared to plug-in fencers) , but wire up a good ground and use real steel wire (not braided stuff) and you will be surprised at how much it can lift you off your feet.
