Rawlins County Kansas | As Ringo said, check the RAM and see what it will cost you to upgrade at least to 512Mb. If it's a PIII, it will probably take SDRAM, which is still fairly cheap. You could look up the manual online to see how much ram you can put in it (probably 1GB).
I've had a lot of computers get "slow" over the years and have wasted numerous hours attempting to set them straight. In almost all cases I would have been better off putting the installation disk in the computer, fdisking the harddrive and reinstalling everything.
I would start fresh if at all possible.
