Man, I wish you were close to ND. Or if you are interested, you might decide to come get some cable from us. A few years back, a crew went through here and took the top cable off the big gov. power line that runs through our place. They took down many miles of 1/2'' diameter cable made of 7 strands of high tensile wire. They left us 2 rolls of wire almost 3' in diameter and must weigh 3-4 K. We used almost a miles worth building our feedlot and still cant lift whats left with the 7420. We put the spool on a old stoneboat on end and built a cage around it so it wouldn't go sproing when we cut the bands. Then just pulled it out of the middle of the spool as we needed it. This cable wont fray like winch cable, but it is a stiff bitch to work with. And I would guess that we must have 5-6 miles of it left. Oh yeah, the reason they took it done was they put a fiber optic line up on the top of those big towers. Should be safe from a backhoe up there. Rob D
