I have mixed feelings on this. Pigs will do alright in partial slats, i dont have any recent budgets, i quit raising pigs last year. The one thing i would make sure of is that you have a place to market them for a fair price. I dont know how it is in Ohio, but around here, people who will buy less than a semi load at a time are getting fewer and fewer. I think it would be a great project for the kids though. If you have adjustable feeders to control waste, thats a definite plus. The other thought is manure management. If you dont have the equipment, it will cost you. Around here you can rent a vacuum tank spreader for something like 160 a day. From your nickname, which i just actually read, lol, you may know all this already. The short answer is, the pigs will do fine in a partly slatted finisher, probably within a couple dollars total cost of a fully slatted finisher.
