Subject: Multiple needs for GPS NMEA data

Pittsburg, Kansas

I can see a problem we are going to have when we install a new Insight along side our Greenstar I. Will be using the GS to VR corn seed via Seedstar and using the Insight to monitor split hybrids (and next year to do Seedcommand for seed autoswath). Both are going to require gps data. What, short of mounting a second gps on the tractor, can I do to use our Outback S2 (eDrive Baseline) to supply NMEA data string to both?

The simplest solution may be to put a cheap gps on the cab for the Greenstar but it looks like there ought to be a device made to "split" the signal. I think some devices have an output that cand send the NMEA beyond to another device but as far as I know (got to dig the books out tomorrow) anything I have does not.

As time goes by this is going to be more of a problem as I see it - multiple needs for gps data.
