In your situation, I'd do this:

Enable ActiveX on your Internet Explorer application.

Go to: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

and then let the Windows Update site figure out what might need to be installed or re-installed.

NB that if you don't have a broadband connection, this might take days to complete.
