SW Iowa, Clarinda | Thought I post my luck here. 108 days after turning the bull in behind 8 heifers and 5 young cows, I took them to town to visit the local vet clinic for pregnancy check ups. Results are as follows: old school preg tests: no ultrasounds or blood tests.
5 bred cows , 1st stage
7 bred heifers (one slightly questionable) 1st stage mostly, 2 heifers were second stage
1 open heifer (noticed she hadn't been gaining much weight and just noticed her riding another cow today. I plan on selling her and explainer her situation to whomever sells her.
also had Qty: 5 calves ((~500 lbs each) from last falls cows. 2 steers got green tags and vacinated
3 heifers got green tagged and calf hooded.
Took my good rented heifer bull back. He was good but figured he had plenty of time to get the job done by now.
paying $20 per head, I fed him very well for 110 days, he actually gained on the job.
The will be fall calvers (sept 15 ish)
Thanks again for the replies to the earlier posts.
