NW Tennessee | We bought some replacement cows at a herd dispersal sale last week. Lots of good cattle there and I got some pretty decent cows, IMO, but there were some better. They were selling really high. Several really good 3-6 year old springing cows there, but they were so far out of line with our breeding season, they would have been freeloading for six months or so. It's hard for me to figure out how to make 7 year old $1300 pairs profitable, so that left me out on some, too. The two odd color cows with calves were bought pretty cheap and will be bred to an Angus bull, so the color didn't matter to me. Hopefully, the bull will knock some of the ear off that gray cow's calves, too. LOL The seven pairs we bought averaged $1087 and were aged from 4-7 years old.
