Calving first calf heifers is always a pain. I like the thought's of putting a gentle cow with her........Or because our pens are small 11x11, put a cow next to her.
The wild one's we take our chances, let her calve on her own, outside. The problem with that when she needs help.... It can turn out bad!!!!!!!!
