XP and older systems don't like burning DVD's. They will read them just fine, but you cant just drag, drop and burn to DVD with xp. The easiest way is to just split the pics up to and burn to cd's. Yes, you will have 5 or 6 cd's. You can get software that will allow you to do what you want, but they will have their snags. BTW you will not have this problem with Vista.
