Subject: If you have a TV tuner....

Le Sueur VIA St.Thomas
Hi Tiger,

If your computer has a TV tuner (like http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/prods.html one of these) on your computer, Then you may have all the necessary stuff. I have one and here's how I do it.

With the TV tuner, you can attach a vcr directly to the computer. I think (don't exactly remember) that I 'capture' the video with windows 'Media Center' From there, I import that video into 'Windows movie maker' and burn from there. You can burn as-is or edit if you want. It's not too bad, but there is a small learning curve to it.

This is a time consuming process; You have to capture the video at regular speed, and then the rendering/burning process may take the same amount of time. A one hour video may take 1.5-3 hours of computing time to complete, although you may only spend 15 minutes at the seat.

good luck -jim
