| As was said already don't buy a department store cheapie. The first thing you need to do is buy this book. http://www.amazon.com/NightWatch-Practical-Guide-Viewing-Universe/d... It will give you an easy to understand background of the different telescopes and binoculars that are available, and it is full of star charts and such that you can use for years to come. I have an Orion XT6 telescope that is in the $300 range with a few accessories and works very well. | |
