"Our" power company has done several test burns using large square bales of switchgrass, with a goal of replacing some of the coal they burn now with the renewable material.  From what I've heard, the test burns were fairly successful.  There is a large biomass production project bringing growers and potential consumers together that has been in operation about 50 miles from us for several years.
