Macon, IL | Not really worried about that scenario, but do keep plenty of ammo. Generator and unless it is fall have 50 gallons of unleaded sitting in the grain truck and maybe 20 in gas cans. Always keep a big woodpile behind shed.
Small supply of canned goods, matches, water purification tablets, powdered milk, flashlights, batteries, crank radio, firestarters medications, etc. We do have a family disaster plan if something goes bad.
More planning for that week long snowstorm or power outage than any natural disasters or apocalyptic scenario.
If one ever does go down I think we will all be dang glad to live outside the city.
If you like thinking about those sort of things the fictional book 1 second after is FANTASTIC. Best book I have read in a long time-makes you realize how fragile our infrastructure as a nation as become-how dependent on power, etc. | |
