| Clay has it mostly right. One thing I would add.....
down at the bottom left side of the page, there is a box. It is going to say one of two things: either "Html Editor/Link Tools" or "Use Basic Editor". If it says "Html Editor/Link Tools", then you need to click on that box in order to bring up the Html Editor. Otherwise, you will look and look and look and not find the little blue chain.
Once you are in the Html Editor mode, you can also see all sorts of other ways to modify your posts.
One other thing I typically do..... when inserting a link, next to the box marked "Target", you have the option of "opening in same window", or "opening in a new window". I have gotten in the habit of opening in a new window. I think that helps others from losing the page they were on before they clicked on your link. Just my perspective on a minor detail.
