Guess it all depends on what the word is means..  If you two are rolling in the hay a few times a week going to a few places together. She does the dishes ,laundry,shopping, fixing the fire,shoveling snow etc. I'd say being friends is great. If on the other hand you get stuck doing a bunch of womens work to make her happy A year and half might seem like a lifetime. the secret is finding someone a little more desperate than you. 

 My advice, keep her on the string and throw out another line.
