Have you bought any kids' toy tractors or semi trucks lately?  Many are in the clamshell or shrunk plastic, and then, once you get past that, there are at least 8 twist-ties holding them to the box.  And when you think you've got it whipped, you find that there is also one or  more plastic bars in the bottom with mulitple screws thru the bars and into the bottom of the toy that have to be backed out before the little guy can get to his fun.   The packaging adds more to cost than the toy does.  :(
