We have a Heat N Glow with a wall thermostat. No problems, just clean the glass once a year and add some special wool for the glowing embers look. We had to go up through the roof also. I built a wood section going all the way to the ceiling to hide the flue pipe. More work then a vent to the back, but I think it looks better.
