Subject: Re: Snow in sunny Florida

Hastings, Florida
Oh yeah. I have heater and fireplace. Electric central heat will add about 75 to 100 bucks a month to electric bill more than using AC in summer. Even South Florida will have heaters, but fireplace will be mostly for effect down there.Being surrounded by water makes our cold always feels very damp and wet. I have, at times, felt worse at 30 degrees here than zero up in your neck of the woods. Homeless shelters are overflowing. Many poor will migrate to Florida during winter, sleep in tents, or just in the woods. My county estimates it has about 800 homeless, transient type.
