Grand Rapids, MI | Yes, JD comes out with updates very regularly for GS2. They should be slowing down as the product matures, but with all the problems they had in year 1, there will probably be more updates. I would DEFINATELY reccommend that you keep things current.
To plug a CF card into your laptop, it depends on how your laptop is set up. If it has a PC card slot, you can get a simple adapter that you slide the CF card into, then you can slide the whole thing in the PC card slot. Probably the cheapest and easiest. You can get these for 5-10 on the web or probably 15-20 at your local electronics superstore. If you don't have a PC card slot, you can get a CF reader that plugs into a USB port, probably about $5 more than the adapter card. If you plug in your card with either of these options, it should come up in windows explorer like any other drive.
You will have to take a card around to all your GS2 units and update them, there should be instructions where you download the file.
Good luck, let us know if you have any questions.
