I use MS money, and I believe it is ver 2002, but don't remember for sure at the moment.  I have another program for farm used, but use Money for keeping track of a conservancy district for which I serve as treasurer. 

I have updated several times, (I beleive 3 times) in the 8 years I have been using this program.  And each time, there is no way to go backward, but I have always been able to count on forward compatability.

What is the problem with installing the new version of the program on your other computer?  Does the new versions of MS Money not allow multiple installations?  My version is installed on my laptop, my desktop, and on my backup computer in the shop, and I update each version when I make changes, so I can use the program over my LAN on any computer.  I take the laptop to board meetings with the latest update of data, so I can reference transactions at the meeting if there are any questions.
