Subject: Re: Making a JD 4710 Variable Rate

Southwestern, MS
Last year, I had a 4710 set up for VRT with the original brown box display and mobile processor. I also had a 4720 set up for VRT with a GS2 system with the 2600 display. I like the GS2 system much better than the brown box display and mobile processor. Although the performance of the two systems are identical, the process for writing Rx files, loading the files, and then viewing the as applied map while spraying is much, much better in the GS2 system. I use FarmWorks and ArcView to create the Rx files and only use APEX to convert the .shp files into the JD format. This year I will upgrade the 4710 to the GS2 system.
Hope this helps;
