Subject: RE: Reuse A-B lines or start over?

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I planted much of my corn and all my Soybeans with a Trimble Autopilot system running with a Trimble 332 using XP via Ag Leader's Insight display

I used the AB lines from the corn planting when I planted the soybeans in the adjoining field. This was within a couple of weeks and the soybeans lined up nicely.

This Fall I applied NH3 with the same tractor and reused the AB line again in those fields. I did not have to nudge the line at all (This surprised me). Some rows were E-W while others were N-S. The Insight even recognized that the NH3 bar was a different width than the planter and suggested an adjustment based on half the difference of the two implements. I just accepted the suggestion and things worked out fine.

It will be interesting to see how things line up next Spring.

It would seem to me that the drift factor might affect one end of the AB line differently than the other. Possibly the AB line is saved as a single point with a heading rather than an actual A point and an actual B point.

Anyway my experience so far has been good in that regard.
