Subject: Ground ear corn- mold inhibitor?

CNY
I have been picking 30-40 tons of ear corn the last 5 years to grind for my steers. Cribs are long gone here, I’ve just kept it on wagons and piled it on a concrete floor in my pole barn. I wait extra long until the grain is dry, never have had an issue until this year.

Problem is there is moisture in the cobs. The grain that I have hand shelled is 14%. It looks like it kept well, no moldy or bad looking stuff. I grind a grist & put it in my bin and it’s fine for a couple days. Then it heats & sets up hard.
My Dad said back when they ground a lot of ear corn they would occasionally have this problem. He said they used to get some kind of mold inhibitor in a 50 lb bag and putting a bag in with each 2 ton batch solved the problem. He said they did have problems with the dairy cows not wanting to eat it with that stuff in there.

Does anyone know of some kind of product like this? I calling the place I get my minerals from and they weren’t much help. For now I ran 100 bushels into a little wagon with 2 of those screw in fan augers in there but not sure how much it will help.

Thanks
