Have you figured it out yet?

If not, couple of other things to look at.

A simple thing to do is put a mark on the top of the hex shaft on the front and back row units. Then rotate the ground drive wheel and watch the front and rear shafts. Try rotating the rear shaft a complete 360 and make sure the front drive shaft makes the same 360.

If that checks out, then carefully look at how the chains for each planter unit are routed through the tensioners under the boxes. The person before probably replaced the chains at some point and may not have routed them correctly allowing them to loosen and jump teeth on the sprockets. The front pusher units are routed different than the rear puller units. Take a box off and rotate the hex shaft while watching how the chain rolls over the clutch drive gear.

If that’s not it, look to see if any of the chains are running either off the teeth on the hubs or the chain side links running high on the points of the sprocket teeth. This is on the clutch disengage sprockets under the planter box. The 2 carriage bolts holding the flange for the clutch release to the planter box frame are slotted. If they are out of alignment, it will cause the chains to jump off or ride high on the sprocket teeth.

Lastly, have you dug up seed in the rows for both the pusher and puller units and compared seed spacing? If they are the same, you may have different seed tubes on front than the back. Our used 3600 had Hall effect sensors on the front when we got it and wave sensors on the rears. They were off by easily 20% front to rear.
