Bennachie,

I looked at the Summit website and can't determine if this valve is for a pressure compensated closed center system (like that used in a 30-40-50 Series John Deere tractor from the 70's and 80's) or if it is for a closed center flow and pressure compensated (aka load sensing) system (like that on your 876). While these systems are both closed center, they require a different type of valve. The load sensing system has to have a sensing port in the valve that connects back to the pump controls.

The surplus center has valves for load sensing closed center systems, but they are lever controlled. You would have to determine if this could be hooked to your Versatile cables.

Do the detents work on your current valve? These may be hard to get. Are you sure the internal check balls don't need replacing?

I have a couple of these xx6 Versatiles and am also having some valve issues. My e-mail is in profile if you want to talk further.

Doug
