Nw Iowa | Can you air dry it? Anything can be blended but the higher moisture like over 18% just takes a lot more dry corn. I used to blend a fair amount of corn before we had big enough dryers and blending wetter than 18% has its own problems, mostly just getting it to keep and than flow in a way that is consistent to blend. It is not that difficult but the wetter you go, the more issues. I am also guessing some bigger operations just dump anything under 18% and have enough corn they don’t even keep it separate as if they are moving enough corn with enough slightly over dry ones in between that it just all works out.
