We now think it's because it idled too low for too long (15-30 mins) and it didn't auto-regen. The manual indicates this model has to be at 1500 rpm to auto-regen. Whatever mode it went into is preventing the manual regen option from being displayed, and the derate to idle isn't high enough to engage the auto-regen.
I think you are right. We need Deere diagnostic equipment. Probably a dealer call tomorrow.
