The military, and police, do not train with firearms on a regular basis. Once a year is normal, twice is a lot. Talking about avg. personnel.
As the pic of the navy guy with the jacked-up rifle, and many similar pic of police with dept issue firearms with optics on backwards, and/or magazines inserted backwards, responding to an armed standoff show.

That is why I always get a chuckle out of the statement - "civilians who want to own firearms should be required to have as much training as the police."

Civilians who want to own firearms should be required to have training once a year?


Shooting for 15 minutes , once a year?  
the avg gun owner does 10x that amount.
