Henbit thrives on dirt, but not on soil. Get some soil bacteria and Humic Acid, on that. Hebit thrives because of methane gas and Rotting trash anaerobically (from no oxygen to speak of) in the soil. Follow the signs that Mother Nature is showing you. Weeds are showing you of an unhealthy symptom of something not right in the soil. Unhealthy "dirt", will not produce a nutrient dense crop for food. I'd venture to bet that you will also have insect problems as well. Plants that are healthy, have HIGH Brix levels, will NOT have insect problems. More sugar in the sap means more kernels, berrys, and seeds. Especially, if you want tasty produce in your gardens. Ask yourself why the garden soil works better (in most) and holds moisture better, and has less insect problems. Is it because, maybe, kinda you don't use Anhydrous or starter or fungicides on it? Get a Refractometer, and start looking for sugar levels in your crops. that measures the sugar levels, and will show you how the sap is in the plant. Ask any vineyard owner how important that is.
