There were a couple of guys had some short corn around here last year. Tips of the ears were about 6” off the ground, and the yield was nothing to get excited about. My bride is 5’1”, and the tip of the tassels were about even with the top of her head. Both fields were in an area that didn’t get an abundance of rain, and even the normal corn was 12-18” shorter than usual.
Neither guy is planting any of it this year.
