Subject: RE: VR seeding Soybeans…anyone with experience?

Jeffersonville, OH
I have been doing it with Dad and Uncle's stuff for a few years now...I can't get them to stop buying enough for 145K across the whole field, but I think we could drop the population further and maintain yield.

I have been maintaining the field average about 145K to use up the seed they bought, but doing VR from 100-175K to try and put the seed where it makes the most sense. Since I've been doing it, we have not seen yields decrease, and last year we raised the best beans we ever have...weather was pretty close to ideal, so can't say it was just the VR, but it didn't hurt.

I think we could get down close to 125K in our soils and maintain population
