Iowa | The thread below got me pondering something..... I believe everything has changed not just reasons to or reasons why someone buys land.
I believe in my farming career farmland will be in a class all on its own as a storer of wealth the "dividend" it provides will become secondary. In the time of my grandfathers grandfather farmers used to make a living, and raise there families on a 160 acres. Now a farmer thinks they need 5-10,000 to "make it". Grandfather has always said if someone needs that much land to make a living must be a pretty poor farmer. No desire to farm that way.
As always land ownership is king, and has become a wealthy group of individuals that own it, and can afford to keep buying.
