Manitoba | We bought a 2011 600 ACE couple years ago. Very different feel than a 2 stroke, none of that “hit” when a 2 stroke hits its powerband and launches. But thats not a bad thing depending on its rider. Its not slow, just different. Dad really enjoys it, its quiet, reliable and sips fuel. It has plenty of power for most trail riding IMO and newer riders feel comfortable on ours very quickly. Plus no 2 stroke oil to worry about. But riding 2 up is very different snd in our family we rarely do so despite having a comfortable 2 up sleds. Adding a used 600 ace for her to ride might be more fun for all. One thing i will mention, neighbor at my parents cabin had 2 of the grand touring 900’s and in extreme cold (-30+ overnight) he couldnt get them to start while our old 2 stroke machines were good to go. I am sure that can be overcome but he wasnt set up to deal with it. That was before we had the 600 but it isnt fond of extreme cold starting either.
2nd pic is my wife with couple of us at lake last year. She is super timid regarding such activities but the characteristics of the ace sleds are good for reducing these fears. While uncertain about the purchase at the time i am very glad we went with an ACE for our family group.
Looks like instead of pulling the plug on sledding after this last winter you've decided to double down and get more into it.
