| trying to understand buying put options
I'm considering buying a put option to protect the price on my January born black angus eastern oregon calves that i usually sell in September or October.
on my Etrade account, today it says Nov-21-24 270.00 put costs $6700
with approximately 91 550# calves covered by one option, that is $73 head?
seems expensive? if i look on a different day when the futures board is up more will the put be cheaper?
