Increase yield 50%? Drop market price of corn 65%. That would be my guess. Harvest costs would go up with the extra handling. Margins would even be lower. Alternative crops would need to be looked at.
I've farmed for 40 years. Every year someone says we need more production or there will be starving people in the world. Haven't really seen it yet. Don't believe I will ever see it with the worlds populations seeming to be reaching a peak and may be going down if it isn't already.
