No more covid so the packers can't make $2500 a head. Seriously, I went to the local small grocery store last evening and always inspect the meat counter. Pork, chicken and ground beef moving, other beef cuts not so much. You can't squeeze blood out of a rock, either consumer or cow calf producers or the feeders for that matter. Packers have gouged both sides for years and now the chickens (pun intended) are coming home to roost. But don't feel too bad for the big four packers. Beef, pork, chicken, fake meat and crickets, they have created an oligopoly (market controlled by at least two but less then five principles) for every protein source.
