Subject: RE: Life Line Screening

Cherokee County, Northwest Iowa
I did it maybe 10-12 years ago, in a local church basement, they were short one worker for some reason, so was kinda un-organized, but i thought all in all they did an ok job for a crude screening.

I had my annual physical 3 weeks ago, nurse practitioner suggested that I make an appt. with local hospital (granted, she is employed by that same hospital) and get an abdominal aortic aneurysm and carotid arteries ultra-sound, for $ 70 out of my pocket, no insurance claim. Turned out fine, sure have spent $70 in a lot of more foolish ways, to be sure. So maybe check with your local hospital.

My neighbor had an AAA for several years, had it checked out once a year, finally one year they said come back in a couple of days, they scheduled surgery and he turned out fine. A second friend of mine had his blow open, story I heard was that the emergency room surgeon started cutting him open as they rolled the gurney down the hallway into the surgical suite, he survived and farmed another 15 years.
