SE Iowa | How bad does henbit need to be before you should spray it early spring? We run a two pass system for chem and will have a one pass with a field cultivator before planting corn. I don’t like how tilling it up will be cloddy/chunky with all the root mass but not sure if it’s worth the extra cost to hit it early? What do you do or what’s your threshold? It’s not solid but patches are starting in some fields earlier than normal with the warm spring.
Corn stalks going to notill beans doesn’t bother me as much because the burn down will get them and the planter will knife in the beans without issue as if it were just a cover crop ;) | |
