Illinois STATE budget for 2025 is $52.7 BILLION. The USA federal budge in 1950 was $41.9 BILLION It's unfortunate that they have everyone arguing about who should be taxed or who isn't paying their fair share. Everyone should be arguing about what to quit spending money on and quit raising the budget every year. Below is a chart of property tax I paid over that last 38 years. It's only gotten more onerous as some groups demand more. We (the paying people) get less service and it cost more. My apologies for not being clearer. First this on one property, Second these are ½ year payments. Once again you are looking at what somebody pays and not what is happening. Quit looking at somebody else and focus on what's happening with your money.
