Big Sky Country | About 8-10 years ago we were headed to Utah/Colorado to stake uranium claims. Stopped in wells, nev, as El Aero had a base there and helicopters are thirsty.
A plum shiny helicopter landed and that pilot had the moon lander next stop mars spacesuit on—-more pockets, zippers, gizmos than I’d ever seen.
Looked over @ our 60,000 plus hour pilot and asked him ‘why can’t you dress the “part”? Wouldn’t hurt you to spiff up a tad. He’s got a little homemade nose shade deal, his duck hunting hat, 6$ worth of clothes and a surly reply….
Anyhow, as we left I could read
‘Los Angeles Sewer and Water’ on Spaceman Spiffs rig.
He said they been flying outa there for a while and we’re looking for water.
I said hell ,there ain’t any. He thought they were after ground water and evidently considered the distance workable—-and almost all of Nevada is federal land, | |
