Nw Iowa | They went broke. Renting out combines takes a pretty ingenious fellow as you have to buy them right, charge enough and get them to next location on time. We were in dealership for 20 years and renting out combines never worked very well. The only time it worked is when we had too much inventory and you were going to wholesale some out after season. Taking a fully reconditioned combine to auction never paid, trying to retail a rented out combine didn’t pay very well either as customer wanted it reconditioned. Selling combines is much tougher than selling tractors. | |
