Father in law used to use something similar except made out of wood and not as nice as this one. I don't have any pics. He replaced it with a self catch headgate a few years back.

It was just a wooden frame with a hardwood board that pivoted on the bottom with another smaller board that dropped in from the top to lock it in place. Really more of a stanchion than a headgate, but it did the job. It was attached to the building on one side and a hedge post on the other side. Just had a Kentucky tube gate on the side (when he put the head catch in he also got a double gate so he can open the bottom while leaving the top shut). He used it for a lot of years to pull calves or hold the cow so calves could nurse.
